Revisions to proposed fees for natural health products

July 2025

Significantly lowering fees by scaling down planned program enhancements & temporarily lowering the fee-setting ratio to ease the introduction of fees

The NNHP at Health Canada has started a new fee program for manufacturing and renewing natural health products. Phasing in fees over a 7-year period targeting a coming into force date of December 1, 2025. They tell us the fees are designed to recover costs sought by Health Canada for regulating NHPs, including reviewing submissions, inspecting facilities, and maintaining the licensing program. The fees will be phased in over a seven-year period with gradual annual increases ending in 2033.

Site License renewals will cost you $9,561, ending at the seven-year period. Those with existing and new NPNs’ annual Right to Sell (RTS) fee has been reduced from $542 to $317 for each license.

Revised fee for small businesses now at $238 with year 1 at $116 (December 1, 2025 to March 31, 2027)
