Join Us in Preserving Access to Natural Health Products in Canada

At a time when the well-being and health of Canadians are paramount, it is crucial that we unite to protect their access to natural health products. These products have been valued by countless individuals for their potential benefits, and we believe it is essential to ensure that they remain accessible. Today, we call upon our industry peers and concerned citizens alike to join us in our efforts.

We’re calling on our industry to help us keep natural health products available to Canadians. Here’s how you can get involved:
  1. Send a Letter to Your Member of Parliament: Taking action begins with reaching out to your elected representatives. You can easily send a letter expressing your concerns about increasing costs and reducing choices for Canadians in the realm of natural health products. Personalize your message to highlight why these products are essential to your well-being or that of your loved ones. Remember, your voice matters, and it is through collective action that we can make a difference.
  2. Download and Share Our Action Kit: To amplify our message and broaden our reach, we have created an Action Kit that you can download and share with your network. The kit contains key information, talking points, and resources to help others understand the importance of preserving access to natural health products. By spreading the word, you can inspire more individuals to take part in this cause and demonstrate the widespread support behind it. Together, we can ensure that the options for Canadians remain diverse and affordable.
  3. Join the Conversation on Social Media: The power of social media in mobilizing communities and generating meaningful discussions cannot be understated. We invite you to connect with us on our social media platforms, where we are actively engaging with supporters and encouraging dialogue about the significance of natural health products. By following and sharing our posts, using relevant hashtags, and voicing your thoughts, you contribute to the broader conversation and help raise awareness. Remember, our collective voice is stronger together, and social media provides a powerful tool to make it heard.

Based on Canada’s west coast, Linda has been providing regulatory consulting and compliance expertise to Canadian and international companies since 2004, when Canada’s Natural Health Products Regulations first came into effect.

A Certified Herbalist with a degree in Botany and Medical Research, Linda also holds certifications in several natural and complementary healing modalities. This combination of scientific training and hands-on herbal expertise gives her a unique perspective on the products she helps bring to market — from vitamins and herbal remedies to nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, and sports supplements.

Over her two decades working directly with Health Canada, Linda has built strong working relationships with regulators that have translated into consistent success in securing Natural Product Numbers (NPNs) for her clients. Her advocacy work has had industry-wide impact — including playing a key role in Health Canada’s decision to reinstate hempseed oil to its approved ingredient database after it had been removed, restoring a path to market for products containing the ingredient.

Through CNHPR, Linda guides clients through every stage of the licensing process: developing a tailored regulatory strategy, compiling required documentation, and managing submissions from signing through to Health Canada approval.
